I would pick up this glyph if for no other reason than our other minor glyph options are quite crap. However, it can be good if damage resistance won’t help you like a full health bar will, like the last percent of a boss when the healers are dead. This can be useful, it was much MORE useful back before they made it so that you can’t use it and then Divine Protection within 1.5 minutes of each other. Glyph of Lay on Hands – This reduces the cooldown on your Lay on Hands spell by five minutes. While this may seem good, if you use Seal of Command for trash or add tanking, there’s really no need for this Glyph. Glyph of Hammer of the Righteous – This makes Hammer of the Righteous hit an additional target. This can be a good glyph choice for threat if you’re already close enough to the expertise cap to not need the Seal of Vengeance Glyph. Glyph of Judgement – This makes your judgement spells hit 10% harder, always a good thing. This can be good for bosses, but due to Avengers Shield’s utility on trash and adds I would give this one a miss. Glyph of Avengers Shield – This glyph makes your Avengers Shield hit only target, but for twice the damage it normally does. Example: Deathbringer Saurfang, Lady Deathwhisper, Professor Putricide, Festergut, etc, etc) This is great for those bosses where you HAVE to get that taunt go through. Glyph of Righteous Defence – Makes your taunts unable to miss. Glyph of Seal of Vengeance – This one increases your expertise by 10 while this seal is active, great for threat, but be sure to remove it if you’re going way over the expertise cap. That’s it really, the other glyphs are up to personal preference, let’s have a quick look at them. You have to be careful of your threat though, as you can’t use it when dps is biting at your heels otherwise they’ll draw aggro. I have found this to be immensely useful as another emergency cooldown, and that’s why I’ve put it as essential. However, with this glyph that function changes to add a 20% damage reduction whenever it’s cast on you, in addition to the threat reduction. Glyph of Salvation – Hand of Salvation reduces our threat by 20% over 10 seconds, that’s its base function. With our talents making Divine Plea have a 100% uptime, this is a free 3% damage reduction. Glyph of Divine Plea – You never want to be running without this bad boy. I’m going to assume you’re a level 80 for the purposes of this guide. Well I thought I’d do you a bit of a service and make this little guide on what kind of glyphs you should be looking to get. Row 5 is locked until 8 points are spent, and row 8 is locked until 20 points are spent. So you’ve decided to be a Protection Paladin, you’ve got your shiny new gear, you’ve got all your talent points stowed away to empower you with all their holy might, and now you have to look at the Glyphs. A talented ability cannot be changed while it is on cooldown. They can be changed at any time outside of combat, except during a PvP match or Mythic+ dungeon. The three paladin specializations are Holy ( healing), Protection ( tanking) and Retribution ( melee DPS).įor a summary of the character and strengths of each spec, see Paladin specializations. Most abilities are shared between all specializations, while some are only specific to one (or two) specializations.Īll paladins automatically learn the following spells at the specified level, regardless of specialization. Paladin abilities are abilities that paladins use. For paladin abilities and talents on Classic servers, see Paladin abilities (Classic).
